Eleventh Week (16/12/19 - 20/12/19)

Andoni MiguelMonday and tuesday

These two days are the first days of our last week before Christmas. We have to finish the notes iker Lopez and me. So with the tool holder designed, we draw the drawings of all the parts of the toolholder.
First the bases and the largest pieces and finally the small and flat pieces of the standardized elements. And after making all the plans, we put in the notes, all the notes of the subject `` Empresa ''.
After doing all this, we just wanted to print all notes. And this is more or less what we did on the sixteenth and seventeenth day.

Wednesday-Oier Zabala

When we arraived to class we done the last retouchings to the planes of the Diseinua proyect, then we started preparing the presentation that will we do tomorrow.

We also had to print the notebook, beacuse the thursday we had to deliver it and we don't want to walk with just the right time.

Finally we leave everything finished for tomorrow.

THURSDAY -  ALAIN PACHECO
The first hour we used to prepare the presentation with Salesianos Deusto and at 9
o´clock we started doing the presentations.

Iker and Andoni were the first from ACE & HAZE to making the presentation, after Iker and Andoni, it was me and the last one doing it was Oier.
After the second break, we continued monitoring the die which is going to fabricate.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

Friday 20th of December was the last day of the course of 2019, so that day was a bit special for us.

We didn't have too much work to do and besides, we were leaving class at 12 o'clock,  so we used those 4 hours to improve the work done before in the "Diseinua" project (only if it was necessary) and also, to carry on with the handling of the manufacturing of the progressive die in which we'll be still working on our return to class in January.

Tenth Week (09/12/19 - 13/12/19)

MONDAY-ALAIN PACHECO

On Monday we started the first hour with Julen, and we do it two pieces with new mechanics. This mechanics we learning to use in the last exam of the year the next week.

After the first break, we continued doing the second project with Salesianos Deusto students. We finished the CATIA V5 pieces. After that, we did the video call of the day to speaking about the project.

TUESDAY-ALAIN PACHECO

On Tuesday we started the first hour with Gaizka, and we continued doing the Project with Salesianos students. At 9:00 we did a video call, to look over the information and the sketches.

We decided divided the CATIA documents into two parts: The tower, which are going to do Salesianos Deusto students and the grab, which are going to do my group.

After that, we continued doing the documents and finishing the grab in CATIA.

WENDNSDAY- ANDONI MIGUEL

Today we have our first video call with the Salesian students of Deusto, and we had to tell them about our progress with the toolholder.  We have to show them how we finished the project and show them our final sketch. In the end we opted for the project of the students of the Salesians of Deusto, but with a lot of changes.  And after showing them everything we started to assemble the tool holder

THURSDAY- OIER ZABALA

On thrusday when we arraived to class we done a video call to get us up to date, we started designing the piece we have selected that for friday was to be finished.
Then with Iranzu we done some theoretical class of company. Next with Gaizka we continued designing because we had little time to finish.
Before the end of the day we done another video call to share and explain what we had done during the day.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

Friday was the last day of the second week of the "Diseinua" challenge, and the landmark that was set up for that day was handing in the final 3D design. Some people had already their work done because they took advantage of working properly the days before, but some other couples were a bit nervous due to the few time they had to finish the 3D document and hand in it before the deadline.
Of course, most of the couples had a video conference meeting with their correspondent teammates from Salesianos to revise their work and let everything prepared before handing anything in.

Next week the blueprints of the 3D design must be done and submitted before midnight, and the final report of the whole challenge must be finished for Wednesday.

The picture below features the final 3D design of the team formed by Andoni Miguel, Iker Garcia (from Deusto), Unai Garcia (from Deusto) and Iker López.

Ninth Week (02/12/19 - 05/12/19)

MONDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

As we shared before, the first challenge (designing a die) got over the last Friday 29th of November, so this first Monday of December, a new project was shared with all the class.
This new challenge consists of working with other schools to get a project in common, so what the teachers did to introduce the new work was making a presentation by videocall. There are 5 different schools taking part in this project but the one Maristak has to work with is Salesianos from Deusto. Each school presented a little part of the project and also working groups with mixed people from different schools were made.

What does the challenge consist of? Well, this new project asks students to find a way of solving possible problems that the people from CMM could have when working with their lathes, so what students from Maristak and Salesianos have to do is designing a new way to grab the tool used in those lathes or change the way that currently is used. For that, they will have to carry out a 3D document using CATIA V5 and a report which gathers all the information and technical features of their design.

TUESDAY- OIER ZABALA

On Tuesday first we started collect information of the new challenge, we went to the workshop to speak with Fidel to explain us what the problem in the lathe was. Then after that we started thinking the sketches for this new challenge.

As in this challenge we are working with another pair and we must communicate we done a video call to introduce our ideas and to know each other.

Finally, we decided to do another video call the next day, like this we can say by the video call what work we must do on that day and is going to be easier to organize us the different works.

Wendsnday- Andoni Miguel

At the end of our old project, we are still looking for information about the new challenge, which is to make and design a tool holder, which has to be to the liking of fidel. I started designing my sketch. my sketch is based on a tool holder that works like a jaw. That is to say, to tighten and undo the tool it will work like a jaw that will do this work with some rails of ascent. In the end, after researching about the types of tool holders, each of us began to create our own individual sketch to present it to the whole group on Friday.

THURSDAY-ALAIN PACHECO

We started the day with Julen, and we continued doing the new project with Salesianos Deusto students. Today is the last day to deliver the challenge and we had to finish it in the first four hours because in the last two hours we were going to order all the documents to deliver it.

At 9:30, we do a video call with Salesianos Deusto students, to recover the information of the day.

We deliver at 13:00 all the documents: the four sketches, the planing, many photographs, the draft, and al lof the days certificates.

Eighth Week (25/11/19 - 29/11/19)

MONDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

There wasn't anything special on Monday. We continued working on our project because Friday of that week will be the deadline to hand in both the report and the final design, so we were working on that eagerly and a bit nervous the whole day.

One teammate started working on the PPT for the presentation while the others continued working with CATIA V5  and with the report.

Step by step the work was been improved and updated successfully, but on Monday we still had so many things to add to the main project.

TUESDAY- Oier Zabala

On Tuesdays as always, we start the day with Gaizka but this Tuesday was something different because we started with an exam. The exam had two parts, first the part that was without notes, 5 questions about materials and about the die, and the second part was an exercise about bent of a piece, we had to calculate de development and the cutting force calculating the perimeter.

After that Gaizka continued with the oral questions in the different groups, but as we answer that questions on Friday we continued with the last retouching’s of the die. The die must be finished for the Friday and we must finish the notebook (txosten), assemble some pieces in the die and start preparing the presentation.

Wendnsday-- Andoni Miguel

Today is a quieter day, all the work we have done in the previous weeks is seen in the challenge. We are all more relaxed because we are already finishing the last things of the die. Already all the standard elements inserted, the chosten is almost finished, and only that the powerpoint to do.
Having so much time, we went to see a presentation about some engineers who  present  us their project. They have presented  us how they are building a car to race in a circuit. They want to build an electric car with recycled parts, but using an electric motor. And they made that presentation to present a project to manufacture more electric cars and fewer diesel cars. and when the presentation was over, we went back to class to finish the project.

THURSDAY-ALAIN PACHECO

We started the day with Julen, and we continued doing the CATIA die. We put the last pieces to finish the die because today is the last day.

After the first break, we continued the report to deliver tomorrow at 8:00. One group, they started doing the three-dimensional machine exam and Nagorte says to the other groups the day of the other exams and we are going to do the next Tuesday.

The last two hours we continue finishing the CATIA die and the report to deliver tomorrow.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

Friday 29th of November was the very last day of our first challenge. That was the deadline to hand in the whole project (including the report) so of course, we also had to make the presentation of what we had done until that day to share the work that each group had developed through those three months.

The event took place at the main hall of Maristak and students from 2nd CMM and also an ex-worker from a stamping company attended to watch our presentations.

Seventh Week (18/11/19 - 22/11/19)

MONDAY - OIER ZABALA

Monday was a hard day, at first hour we had an exam of Catia with Julen, some couldn’t do the exam because they hadn’t delivered all the sheets, so first they had to finish them. The exam consisted doing a piece of revolution with some arms and the introduce some parameters and formulas to change some measure.

After that the next hours we had exam with Gaizka, the exam was about materials, the different materials are use in a die and for what. This exam lasted 10 minutes, so the rest of the time we continued each with his work, joining de die, the standardized items, the notebook…
To finish de day, we finished with an English exam, we had to write a letter with the issue that the teacher puts and a text explaining our course, what does it consist of, why we choose, way of working…

TUESDAY - OIER ZABALA

On Tuesday when we arrive, we remember that Alain did not come, so another one had to take his place as the assembler, and I decided to take the responsibility. The first two hours we take it to change a fail that we saw, then the next our we decided to join the punches. After that Gaizka explained to us how to know what dock use in the die, diameter, travel, forces…

When he finished, we continued joining and we finish with the punches, so we decided to review the work we done during the day, when we finish reviewing was the time to go to the factory.

WEDNESDAY - ANDONI MIGUEL

Like every Wednesday, we keep doing the die. Lately we are nervous because we believe that we will not finish the project. We must finish in a week and we still have a lot: For example, we have to insert the springs, the screws and something more. But with teamwork and effort I think we will be able to finish next week. But with the springs we will have many problems, since it is difficult to know the size of the springs that we need for the die. Also it is important to put them in their good position, because the axis of the spring has to be at 90 degrees, and if it is not at 90 degrees it is possible that the spring will break.

THURSDAY-ALAIN PACHECO

The first hour of Thursday we started watching a video about violence against women, and after watched the video, we wrote a tale associated with the violence against women.

After wrote the tale we started doing the die in CATIA. Two of the group, they do pieces to the assembly in the die and the other two, they do the maths part.

In the fifth hour, Iranzu comes and we watched videos associated with company subject.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

We started Friday watching some videos Iranzu put to us as a way of learning how to communicate while making a presentation. There were five or six videos, and they featured different presentations in which some tips about verbal and non-verbal communication were given.

Eventually, next Friday we have to make the final presentation of the first challenge, so the main goal of watching these videos was to show us how to behave and express ourselves at the time of giving a presentation.

Then when Iranzu's class got over, Gaizka came to class and we continued working on the main project. Every teammate met at the meeting room to organize and split the work that had to be done, so when the meeting ended, each teammate started doing its corresponding work.
Lots of normalized element were redesigned, corrected and inserted on the assembly (images bellow) while the main report was updated with a huge quantity of information.

Sixth Week (11/11/19 - 15/11/19)

MONDAY - ANDONI

This Monday we continue to work hard on standard elements. We have to finish all the elements before you have to build the die. The most difficult element to do in my opinion are the punches and the positioners, because they are the elements that have more geometries. The punches and positioners are like this

After drawing them, we decided to insert them into to continue designing the die, and these days we are working harder because the delivery of the die is next week.

TUESDAY - Alain Pacheco

The first hour, Gaizka explained new parameters and new things for the CATIA die.

First, he explained the GEOMETRY ADAPTOR and who we can use.  After that, he explained how we can paste the publication in another part and then he does an example.

In the third hour, we started doing the GEOMETRY ADAPT, the piece Body, the punches and the sketches, All this we finished at 12:00.

At 12.15 we got it the punches in the die downstair, with the BodyResta to do the holes to passed it the punches.

Wednesday (ANDONI)

On Wednesday at first hour, we have had class with Julen. We did a piece with CATIA, but if we wanted we could progress in the die. We did this for two hours, and then we went to the playtime

Coming back from the playtime, we had class with Nagore, in theory we had to take some measures with the tridimensional, but in the end, we could follow doing the die. So I was making pieces in CATIA.

After we had class with class with Iranzu and we worked as a team to do ACE & HAZE company.

THURSDAY- OIER ZABALA

On Thursday first we have had class with Gaizka, and first of all, we divided the work and we start
working, after 45 minutes Gaizka explained how to do the punches and how to join it.
After the first brake, we should have class with Iranzu but as we are late with the die
we continued with de die, but first, we finished the work that Iranzu sends for this Thursday.

The last 2 hours we also spend joining the die, and we speak to put overtime some afternoon after
working in the factory, to have finished the die to 22nd November, 1 week earlier of the delivery.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ
Even though Friday should have started with Iranzu's subject and finished with Nagore's one, we worked on the main project the whole day. We are a bit short of time, so now the much part of the class time is used to continue working on the design of the die. The main project must be handed in the 29th of November.

This Friday we finished adding the stamps/punches we had left to its corresponding plate. And apart from that, we also revised and updated all the standardised and constructive elements we had already done through the last weeks to be sure there's no problem with them.

Fifth Week (04/11/2019 - 08/11/2019)

 MONDAY-Alain Pacheco

On Monday we started the first hour with Julen, and we do it two pieces to practice the parameters. The first piece was a handle, which we have to do it in three different Bodys in the CATIA tree. The second piece was an adjustable wrench, which has different parameters to do.

After Jules´s hours, Gaizka came and we continued the CATIA die. The rest of the day, we do CATIA, because, in the Eglish hours, Richard didn´t come.

TUESDAY - Oier Zabala

On tuesday at first hour of the morning we start the day with Gaizka like every week, when Gaizka came he said what have to be finished by the end of the day so we start working with the die. We had to do the commercial elements, caps, punches, ferrules… and also we had to join the last plates.

Then after that Nagore came and we start with statistic, this statistic is for the pieces that you measure in quality in the factory. We did some exercises and after that we correct the AMFE of fabrication.

Finally we continued with the die because we were in a time trial because we only have 2 hours to finish the work that Gaizka he said in the morning.

ANDONI MIGUEL

WEDNESDAY

This Wednesday we have continued making the ``troquel´´ with gaizka. We were all 6 hours doing the troquel study. We put the punches in them placePutting the punches is so difficult because we had to do the same symmetry of the band. It cost us a lot time doing the punches because we couldn´t insert them in the scketch. But finally after so long time we get putting the punches in them sites. Afer that, we sort the CATIAS tree for not lost time seaching scketches.

THURSDAY-Alain Pacheco

On Thursday, we started the day with Gaizka, and the rest of the day, Gaizka was with us. Two members of the group started doing the standardized pieces with CATIA, and the other two members of the group, they catch the standardized pieces and got into the CATIA die.

In the third hour, we continued making the punches and finally we finished that punches for the last hour.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

The last day of the week started with Iranzu's subject, business. We continue working on the different features our company still needs to be created such as the organization chart, the SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis and the legal form that it will take. This work must be done and handed out on the 14th of November so we still have almost a week to finish it.

Then and until 2 o'clock, Gaizka came to class and we continued working on the main task of this first challenge. Step by step the design of our die is getting more and more complete and accurate, but even though the huge updates it has had through all this week we still have a big amount of things to improve and to add to it.

Fourth Week (28/10/19 - 31/10/19)

MONDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

Monday started with Julen's CATIA V5 classes. From 08:00 to 11:15, we focused on drawing a not very complicated piece in CATIA with the main purpose of learning how to insert parameters to a design. So what we did was parametrizing some of the measures the piece had, to make much easier changing them if it'd be necessary.

Then, in the fourth hour, Gaizka came to class and we continued working on the die, improving some of the aspects our design had a bit outdated.

Finally, in the last two hours, we had an English class with Richard, in which we practised some reading doing some exercises from moodle. At least until 1 o'clock, which is the time in which the Dual students leave.

TUESDAY- ALAIN PACHECO

We started with Gaizka and like every Tuesday, Gaizka started explaining the CATIA tree, to continue the die. After that, we insert parameters for the planes, constraints, dimensions,…

Then, in the third and the fourth hour, we started doing columns, two columns with 42 diameters and the other two with 40 diameters.

In the last two hours, we insert the columns in the tree, and then in the die, we insert a lot of holes to put t the columns.

ANDONI MIGUEL
Wednesday

Wednesday was a quiet day. We were preparing for our visit to Mercedes de Vitoria. We were reading about what they were doing and more information about this.
According to the videos and the information on the internet, it is a Vito van factory. It is the biggest Mercedes factory in Spain, and that is why it was very important for us to go to that tour. And after a few hours informing us of this factory, we write all the information and we  continue to do the class challenge.

THURSDAY-Oier Zabala

On Thursday we didn't have normal class because we went on a excursion to the Mercedes of Vitoria. When we arrived they explained to us how is going to be the visit, first of all the visit started in the first pavilion, there starts with a lot of robots joining the different plates, when that operatoins are finished the car only is the chassis.

After that the car have to go to paint and to clean. In this section we couldn't see anything because we didn't have the right clothes, but they explained us with a video how they work in that section.
Finally we went to the last section, for mi the most interesting. In the last section they finish all the car in different steps. In this chain works a lot of people and everyone has their job and the chain doesn't stop. When the car enters in this chain is only a piece of plates and when finished the car is prepared to drive.

Third Week (21/10/19 - 25/10/19)

MONDAY: (Alain Pacheco)

On Monday first we started with Julen, and ay 8.15 we started doing a CATIA exam, which we can do it until 10.00. The exam had two exersises, the first one was a part and the second one a drawing. At 10.10 we started the next class with Gaizka. He continues explaining the CATIA tree to do the die (planes, axis, …) In the last two hours, we did English with Richard. We did some reading and listening exercises and then we continue doing the Erronka.

TUESDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

We started Tuesday working on the design of the die with Gaizka, and what we had had to do that day was inserting the 4 plaques of the die to our design.

We continue working with CATIA V5 until the middle of the second hour when suddenly Gaizka remembered we had to move to the main room to give us a talk about donating blood.

When the talk got over, we came back to class and we continue working in our main project until 2 o'clock, even though we should have had class with Nagore the last two hours.

Wednesday- Andoni Miguel

Like every Wednesday, we have class with julen for 2 hours. During those 2 hours, we made a 3d piece with catia. It was a piece not very difficult, but we had to parameterize it. After the first break , we continued doing the Band Study with Gaizka. The Band Study in my opinion is the most difficult part of the course, and it will cost us to finish. And finally, we did a hour of ``Empresa´´ with Iranzu.

THURSDAY- Oier Zabala

On Thursday first we start with Julen doing a piece to know how to parameter the piece and changing some parameters the piece must be visually the same but with different sizes, but we didn’t have time to finish so we are going to finish the next Monday. After that we have class with Iranzu and we try to finish the brainstorming and the studio de Mercado that we have to hand it on Friday. Finally, we finish the day with Gaizka, we work with the tree and we add some axes and a plane to start drawing in a near future.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

In the first hour of Friday, 4 students from "CMM" came to our class to make us the presentation of their business work for Iranzu's subject. They explained to us how their company was created using a PowePoint and they talked about lots of different issues such us the DAFO of their project, the brainstorming for the creation, the market research...

When the first hour finished, we started working again on the design of the die, and from 10:10 to 12:00 we learnt how to add the main columns to our design.

Finally, we had class with Nagore and what we did with her, was continue working on the "AMFE" and when the class got over, we handed it out.

Second Week (14/10/19 - 18/10/19)

TUESDAY - ALAIN PACHECO

We started Tuesday at 8.00 with Gaizka, and in the first hour, he explains the CATIA tree and how to do it.

Resultado de imagen de arbol de catia

After the first two hours, we started doing a CATIA tree, but with Gaizka´s stencil. The rest of the day, we order the CATIA file, because to do a CATIA Good tree, we need to have everything ordered.

After the DUAL students go, we started doing planes and axis with Gaizka.

WENDSDAY- ANDONI MIGUEL
On wendsday we had class with gaizka all day, because he needed all day for exain how to do the tree of CATIA. And when we finished the CATIA´s Tree we, start making points of first plane of the die.

It was a productive day, we did a lot of things to advance in the chalenge, and now we can advance alone and as a team to do faster the die.

THURSDAY - OIER ZABALA

On Thursday first we do some new pieces in CATIA with Julen, we are studying new methods to do the pieces and we also modify the drawing template.

After that with Gaizka we continued doing the tree, and he also explained new things that we must do in the tree. With Iranzu we finished the “Estudio de mercado” that we must hand it on 25th October.

FRIDAY - IKER LÓPEZ

We started Friday working on the market research for the subject of business. So what we did, was to create and organize the PowerPoint we have to present next week which with we have to talk about the creation of our company and the mentioned market research.

After this, Gaizka came to class and we continued working on the design of our die in CATIA. That day we focused on updating our specification tree file and finished Gaizka's class inserting our design inside that file.

In the last two hours, Nagore explained to us what was and how does an "AMFE" work. In Spanish "AMFE" (Análisis modal de fallos y efectos) and English "FMEA" (Failure mode and effects analysis) is used to identify potential failure modes in a system and their causes and effects. So what we have been told to do is to make our own AMFE which involves the potential failures, causes and effects of our design.
